Madeline & Beorn

It made me think about the kind of family culture I want to build as my kids grow older.
Madeline and Beorn’s wedding at Hazelnut Farm was the kind of day that stays with you. It was thoughtful, deeply personal, and full of quiet moments that carried so much meaning. From the start, the atmosphere was relaxed—the getting ready rooms filled with music, easy conversation, and the smell of fresh Blue Dog Bakery pastries.
Before the ceremony, Madeline and Beorn stood on either side of a corner wall, holding hands without seeing each other. In that still moment, Madeline’s grandmother prayed over them. A calm, sacred pause before they stepped into marriage. When it came time to walk down the aisle, Madeline surprised Beorn with a custom song arrangement. It was emotional in the best way—simple, honest, and full of love.
The florals brought so much life to the space, spilling from the fireplace mantle and filling every table with color. As the evening cooled, guests warmed up with passed hors d'oeuvres from The Exchange, including grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters made just for the couple. Coffee followed, and conversations lingered long into the night.
What stood out most wasn’t any one moment—it was the overall closeness of their families. Parents and siblings on both sides were genuinely knit together, celebrating something much bigger than just one day. It made me think about the kind of family culture I want to build as my kids grow older. I was grateful to play a small part in a day that felt true to who Madeline and Beorn are—intentional, joy-filled, and deeply loved.
